Relationship Counselling Manchester
I am currently not taking on new clients.
Please contact another counsellor in the area.
Hello, I'm Eileen Fisher. I offer counselling and psychotherapy for both individuals and couples, as well as disordered eating and nutrition support and advice.
I have 2 practices in Manchester and Wilmslow where I see people face to face for office and walking therapy. At present, because of our current situation, I'm working from my study at home and we can work together online or by telephone.
It can feel like a huge step when, as a couple, you make the choice to have some therapy sessions. Whatever the cause of your relationship problems the sooner you get help the better the chances of success. If you think that your relationship would benefit from seeing a therapist then make an appointment today. Couples counselling can strengthen your relationship and our goal would be to give you both safety, connection and compassion within your relationship.
Together we will look at what's happening in your relationship, where your shared strengths and weaknesses are, as well as looking at your values around relationships. As a couple you will develop more effective ways of relating with each other so that communication skills and intimacy flourish.
I work with straight and same sex couples using Imago Relationship Therapy developed by Harville Hendrix and Helen La Kelly Hunt. Imago is highly practical and effective method which has helped thousands of couples worldwide establish more connected, passionate and joyful relationships. The focus in Imago is all about your relationship! Hence, safety and connection are priorities. You will learn through the dialogue process how to deepen communication between you. You both get to hear each other. As a result, you can work through challenges and enhance the positives in your relationship.
I offer online therapy and online couples therapy via zoom. Zoom is a safe, encrypted webcam software that will allow us to talk about what’s going on for you wherever you are in the world.
When you are having counselling online you have to take more responsibility for your environment; I’m not there to ensure the correct conditions are provided. You'll also have to make your own cups of tea!
You will need to find yourself a quiet room where you will not be disturbed or overheard. Imagine if you were having face to face therapy and someone walked in, it would be shocking! Your job is to make sure this does not happen when you have online therapy too. If you have children consider where will they be and who is looking after them while you have the session.
You will need two upright chairs (dining room chairs are ideal) so that you can sit facing each other. Your laptop or computer will need to be set up between you so that I can see and hear you and you can see and hear me. We can have a chat about how to set up before we meet.
Statement concerning the coronavirus pandemic
My practice is all online at present due to the challenging times we find ourselves in. I have a lot of experience working online and it's very easy to set up an appointment. The technology works well and it means that you can get your couples therapy started.
