Relationship Counselling Southport

Many things in life can put pressure on our relationships, from minor misunderstandings to issues such as parenting, work, finances, family, (emotional) infidelity or trust issues to name a few.

In relationship counselling I help couples work through and repair their relationship difficulties.

I have experience in working with couples and individuals on a wide variety of relationship issues. Any type of issues can be brought to counselling, there is no right or wrong. It is whatever you feel you need help and support with, both individually and as a couple

You don’t have to do this by yourself. I am here to support you and help you work towards improving your relationship.

A safe and confidential place

I am an experienced person-centred counsellor and I can offer you and your partner a safe and confidential place to talk about the issues you are experiencing.

This may be a current situation you find yourself in or a past experience which is impacting your life and relationship now. I will help you to explore your thoughts and feelings and help you discover a way through them so that life sits a little easier with you.

I fully appreciate just how hard talking about painful feelings and experiences can be, so please be assured that there is no pressure to talk about anything until you feel ready.

About me

My name is Paula Cook. I have been in the counselling world since 2008 when my counselling training first began. I was awarded my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2013.

I have experience of counselling people from varying backgrounds and I have counselled people from aged 4 up to people in their 70’s. I find it a pretty incredible feeling when somebody sits with me, shares their life story and trusts me to hold their pain and their vulnerability.

Alongside my private practice, I work at Chorley Women’s Centre as their Counsellor and as a Counsellor for the Sefton Branch of the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society. I have also been involved with Lancashire Women’s Centre for many years.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
