Jenny | Counselling Psychotherapist

Introduction

--- Online therapy only ---

I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw on more than one therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each individual and relationship. My work is grounded primarily in person‑centred and psychodynamic approaches, allowing me to balance warmth, collaboration, and emotional depth.
Every relationship has moments of closeness and moments of challenge. Couples counselling offers a safe, supportive space to slow things down, be heard, and reconnect. Whether you’re struggling with communication, trust, conflict, or feeling emotionally distant, you don’t have to face it alone.

I work with couples to better understand each other, strengthen emotional bonds, and develop healthier ways of relating — so you can move forward with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

A person‑centred approach sits at the heart of my work. I aim to create a safe, non‑judgemental space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel accepted as they are, and when therapy is built on trust, empathy, and authenticity. This approach supports open exploration and encourages individuals and couples to access their own strengths, insight, and capacity for growth.

Alongside this, I incorporate psychodynamic understanding to help explore how past experiences, early relationships, and unconscious patterns may be influencing present‑day thoughts, feelings, and relationship dynamics. Often, difficulties within a relationship are shaped by deeper emotional patterns that can repeat over time. By bringing these into awareness, therapy can support greater insight, emotional understanding, and lasting change.

Working integratively allows me to adapt therapy to what feels most helpful for you as a couple. At times, this may involve gently exploring emotional histories and relational patterns; at other times, it may focus on the here‑and‑now of communication, connection, and emotional needs. Throughout the process, I remain attentive to both partners’ experiences while keeping the relationship itself at the centre of the work.

My aim is to support couples in developing deeper self‑awareness, emotional connection, and healthier ways of relating to one another, within a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Online therapy

I offer online couples counselling sessions using Google Meet, providing a secure and accessible way for partners to attend therapy together, wherever you are. Online sessions offer the same level of care, depth, and therapeutic support as face‑to‑face work, while allowing greater flexibility around busy lives, work commitments, or distance.

Sessions take place via a private video call using a simple link sent in advance. Couples can join the session from the same location or from separate spaces if needed. All that’s required is a stable internet connection and a quiet, confidential environment where both partners feel able to speak openly and without interruption.

Online couples counselling can be particularly helpful when attending in person feels difficult or impractical. Many couples find that meeting from their own environment helps them feel more at ease, making it easier to express thoughts, emotions, and concerns honestly. The online format can also support consistency, allowing couples to continue therapy even when circumstances change.

During sessions, I work to create a safe, balanced, and respectful space where both partners feel heard and understood. We explore patterns of communication, areas of conflict, emotional disconnection, or trust difficulties, and work together to develop healthier ways of relating. I remain attentive to the needs of both individuals, supporting each partner while keeping the relationship at the centre of the work.

Confidentiality and emotional safety are taken seriously. Sessions are conducted in a private setting, and I encourage couples to consider how they can protect their privacy on their side of the screen. Together, we establish clear boundaries and a focused therapeutic environment.

Whether you are seeking support to navigate ongoing challenges, repair connection, or strengthen your relationship, online couples counselling offers a flexible and effective way to work towards understanding, closeness, and positive change.
