Relationship Counselling Cottingham

Hello, my name is Sue I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor and offer counselling and psychotherapy to couples and individuals both online (via Zoom) and in person (near Hull).

Couples Counselling can be helpful for any two people who have a relationship together. While this may mean two people who are married, it also means couples in a civil partnership or any other arrangement where two people are in relationship together.

You may as a couple be experiencing loneliness or loss of connection in your relationship. You may be find yourselves no longer talking together as you used to and feel like you’re drifting apart.  You want to find a way forward to be better understood, and to better understand your partner.

There are many reasons why a couples’ relationship may be facing difficulties, however it is not necessary to be at breaking point before seeking the support of a couples’ counsellor. Indeed, many couples seek counselling to prevent their relationship from reaching breaking point.

Most couples who attend counselling do so because they are looking for more effective ways of relating to each other in order to improve their relationship. Together they can learn both how to talk with, and listen to, their partner and find ways to improve their relationship in a way that works for them.

Couples Counselling provides a safe and confidential space for two people to talk together with a trained professional about the problems they are experiencing within their relationship. It differs from individual counselling where the focus is on the individual and focuses instead on the relationship happening between the couple.

If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message.

Online therapy

I offer online counselling using Zoom.

When logging on together you will need access to a private space and a laptop or tablet so that you can both be seen.

Statement concerning the coronavirus pandemic

With the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic restritions lifted I am now working as normal.  There is hand gel available for those that wish to use it. You are welcome to use a mask if you prefer to.

As I have medically vulnerable family members I do ask that anyone with covid, or Flu, symptoms either takes an LFT test or moves their session online to Zoom. I will do my best to offer an alterntive session if requested however this is subject to availability and my usual 24 hour cancellation policy will still apply to appointments cancelled last minute.
