Online Relationship Counselling

Welcome to my page! My name is Louise and I'm an integrative therapist which means I don't adhere to any one counselling theory. For me counselling is not 'one size fits all' so I incorporate different theories to suit the unique needs of the couples I support.

Online counselling

I offer online counselling sessions via Zoom. You and your partner can join from the same location or different ones if you are not in the same location at the time of the session.

Online therapy can be a convenient alternative to face to face therapy for anyone who would prefer to access their support on-line in the comfort of their own home.  It is also very well suited to people who experience mobility problems or live in more rural areas where accessing a counsellor can prove difficult. Additionally, it can provide an opportunity for counselling for those who work unsociable hours, have childcare issues or support someone with a disability.

Relationship problems

Despite how trivial your relationship problems may seem or how serious, couples counselling can be extremely beneficial to help navigate the issues you and your partner are currently facing. A few sessions may be enough or this may be the start of a longer journey.

When you aren't getting on with your partner it can feel very challenging, you may agree on the nature of the issues you are facing or you may completely disagree. Whatever the situation is I am there help understand why your relationship is in distress. This may be why you can't move forward without conflict, why you are feeling distant from your partner, overcoming infidelity or communication misunderstandings, to name just a few.

Couples therapy

Couples' therapy will initially begin by helping you both to identify and clarify the issues or problems you are facing in your relationship/s.  These may relate to recent events or something that is more longstanding. You will both have the opportunity to discuss your expectations and what you would like to achieve for your relationship through couples therapy.

Over time you may then be able to reflect and view the issues from a different perspective, you may learn to communicate more effectively with aim being to help create a happy, healthy and secure relationship, if that is what you want and you are both willing to put in the effort, commitment and hard work.

Sometimes having couples therapy can lead to a decision to end the relationship. I can support you both or individually by providing a safe place to explore your pain from the breakup while learning how to effectively cope with difficult emotions and move forward.

If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message.
