Online Couples Counselling London

--- I work 100% online via Zoom ---

Hello, and a warm welcome to my profile. I offer the flexibility to work with you online, whether you are a couple, or seeking therapy as an individual. Trained by, and having worked with a Relate Relationship service, I have experience of working with many different couple dynamics.

Seeking therapy is an important decision and being in relationships -  whether as a couple, friendships, siblings - is part of what makes us feel whole, and complete.  Having said this, many people express feeling isolated within their particular dynamic and not able to have all their needs met by family and friends.  My counselling room offers you that safe, non-judgemental space.

I work with couples facing many different challenges, which are preventing them from feeling happy and fulfilled in their relationships. These have included:

  • Repetitive cycles of disagreements and conflict
  • Loss of trust through feelings of betrayal
  • Lack of intimacy and a breakdown in communication
  • Different cultural dynamics impacting the relationship

Not feeling connected in relationships, can very easily foster feelings of isolation and frustration. My aim is to help develop more positive feelings, teaching more effective communication strategies. Learning to feel heard, confident and safe to explore what intimacy and trust means to you.

I also have experience of and welcome working with couples from many diverse cultural backgrounds to navigate their particular relationship issues and family conflicts.

My therapy style is warm and interactive and I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy takes courage and I truly hope that this will be the beginning of change for you, as I assist you on your journey to recovery and healing.

Specialisations and Expertises

COUPLES THERAPY:

The issues couples present with in the therapy room, are as varied as people are. Navigating relationships which aren't working can feel confusing, and distressing.  Perhaps you're wondering how you have got to this difficult phase in the relationship, or are struggling with a sense of loss or betrayal.

Having the scope to open up and explore unhelpful patterns of relating, with a view to fostering greater understanding of one another, brings potential for healing and clarity.  I facilitate the conversations needed, helping you to walk through the narrative of your particular story, to bring about a happier outcome.

A snapshot of the issues I have experience of helping with:

  • Separation and Divorce
  • Communication difficulties
  • Parenting differences
  • Extended families and blended family issues
  • Pregnancy and PND
  • Sex and Intimacy issues.
  • Attachment issues
  • Gender and Neurodivergence
  • Self-esteem and confidence issues

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY:
My training with Anxiety UK has allowed me to successfully treat and work with many clients experiencing the different forms of anxiety and depression.

The integration of CBT technqiues often helps people to uncover patterns of unhelpful thinking and subsequent patterned behaviours:

  • Catastrophising
  • Rigid thought patterns
  • Panic attacks and disorders
  • Social anxiety and confidence/self esteem issues.
  • Stress and sleep problems

Working as a Cruse Bereavement Counsellor, both face to face and online during the Pandemic, has afforded me a real insight into the difficulties faced by grief and loss. This can be experienced in many unexpected ways, including attachment issues and the particular context of the loss.  I have been privileged to broaden this work to actively help people also going through different types of losses:

  • A pet or emotional support animal.
  • A dream/hope expectation or belief
  • Experiencing a drastic change in role/work - loss of a job or facing retirement.

Working in a college with young adults diagnosed with ASD, I have directly experienced some of the many challenges faced, alongside the positive factors which shape and define people as individuals with unique gifts and talents.

As a Registered member of the BACP and the British Psychological Society, I follow Ethical Frameworks, to work with you in a safe, non-judgemental and trustworthy manner.
