Kate | Gestalt Psychotherapist
Couples Therapy Oxford
My name is Kate, as a GestaIt psychotherapist I believe in the profound impact of embracing the present moment and delving into the interconnectedness of mind, body, and environment. Through a compassionate and client-centered approach, I accompany couples, individuals, families and groups on a path of self-development, nurturing awareness, acceptance, and authenticity.
My care for others and facilitating personal growth began long before my venture into the field of psychotherapy. For over a decade, I worked as a massage therapist, providing care and support to my clients. During those years, I developed a deep understanding of the mind-body connection and witnessed firsthand the power of touch and empathy in fostering healing and well-being.
While my work as a massage therapist was rewarding, I felt a desire to expand my skills and knowledge to offer a more holistic approach to support my clients. This led me to pursue a Masters in Gestalt Therapy, which has become the foundation of my practice today.
Gestalt Therapy resonated with me due to its emphasis on the present moment and the exploration of the individual's thoughts, emotions, and experiences within the context of their whole being. This approach recognizes the interplay between mind, body, and environment and aims to promote self-awareness, personal growth, self-support and improved well-being. Highlighting the choices we are making on a daily basis which support or inhibit our full expression of self. By raising our self-awareness of how we are in the world we have more capacity to grow. We will explore how you are utilising dialogue, the relationship we create, active experiments with other ways of being, and creativity.
I am now expanding my interest in relationship therapy by completing an advance diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship therapy. If you would be interest in psychosexual work please get in touch for a discounted rate.
Online therapy
I offer online couples therapy via Microsoft Teams, providing a flexible and accessible way to get support wherever you are. Many couples find that the busyness of daily life can make it hard to prioritise their relationship, online sessions make it easier to access couples counselling from home, without the added pressure of travel or time constraints.
I work with couples experiencing a range of relationship challenges, including communication difficulties, feeling disconnected, navigating conflict, or wanting to better understand one another. Together, we explore the patterns that shape your relationship and create space for both partners to feel heard and understood.
I also bring a neurodivergent-informed perspective to my work. Differences in communication styles, emotional processing, and needs can often be misunderstood within relationships, sometimes leading to shame or self-criticism. I aim to support you in making sense of these differences with compassion, helping you build a more connected and sustainable way of relating.
Whether you are looking for support with ongoing difficulties or simply want to strengthen your relationship, online couples therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect.
