Couples Therapy High Wycombe
Are you struggling to communicate effectively in your relationship? Finding that you are stuck in the same argument over and over again? Looking for a space where you can talk through household conflicts, intimacy or betrayal issues, or parenting differences?
The good news is that couples counselling can help – According to the American Psychological Association, it has been proven to be roughly 75 percent effective in reducing levels of relational distress and driving positive outcomes amongst couples from a range of different cultural groups.
Having worked and trained as a relationship therapist at Relate, I have extensive experience of seeing how couple therapy can be key to driving a deeper connection with your partner.
My goal is to offer a non-judgmental space for growth, change, and a deeper connection.
At first, I will work with you to help you identify and clarify the issues or problems you are facing in your relationship. If relationship counselling is the best way forward, you will embark on a series of counselling sessions – anything between six and twelve sessions is usual, but it will depend on the issues you want to address.
Online therapy
The best way to start your therapy journey is to see if I could be fit for you as a couple: I offer a free initial 15 min introductory video or phone consultation so we can find out a little bit more about each other.
I will respond to your initial enquiry within two days.
From here, you connect easily to your online sessions through the online booking system I operate; However Zoom and MS Teams are also options should you prefer.
Qualifications and registrations
In addition to being a fully qualified therapist and member of the British Association of Counsellors (MBACP) I am also on the accredited register of the Association of Christians in Counselling (MACC). I hold a First Class MA Degree, a Doctorate in Pastoral Ministry, as well as a Diploma in Psychodynamic counselling. In addition, I have worked and trained as a couples therapist with Relate and hold their Level 5 Post Qualifying Certificate in Relationship Therapy.Registrations

Specialisations and Expertises
My goal is to offer a non-judgmental space for growth, change, and a deeper connection.

If relationship counselling is the best way forward, you will embark on a series of counselling sessions – anything between six and twelve sessions is usual, but it will depend on the issues you want to address.
To check that we are a fit for each other, new clients undertake an initial assessment with me before counselling starts: Following an initial joint session, each partner will be invited to have an individual session with me before we then meet again as a three. This is to enable you to voice anything which you might find difficult to speak about in front of each other or to ask or address anything that you wish to, in confidence.
Most common issues I support people with:
Couples come to therapy for a variety of reasons at different stages in their relationship. Some start therapy because they notice unhelpful patterns emerging which hold them stuck in the same argument over and over again. Other couples come to therapy to help them prepare for a big life change – such as getting married, becoming parents or the children leaving home – and want to navigate that change in the best possible way. Other couples come to therapy because they are at ‘breaking point’ – by which time it can sometimes be too late. I offer therapy for couples at every relationship stage, including those who just want to prevent any relationship problems.
If you have concerns about a particular relationship or would just like to bomb-proof a great relationship you already have, then I would be happy to hear from you!
