Irina | Psychotherapist/Counsellor MBACP - Individuals and Couples

Couples Counselling and Psychotherapy Frome

Relationships can be our greatest source of comfort and, at times, our greatest source of pain.

When communication breaks down, trust is shaken, or you find yourselves caught in the same arguments, it can feel lonely and disheartening. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

I help couples find their way back to understanding, closeness, and respect - even when things feel tense, distant, or uncertain.

Whether you’re navigating:

  • Repeated conflict or emotional disconnection

  • The aftermath of betrayal or infidelity

  • Changes that have unsettled your relationship (parenthood, relocation, loss, illness, career changes)

  • The impact of grief or trauma on your bond

  • Communication that feels impossible or always misunderstood

Therapy can help you rebuild trust, learn to listen and be heard, and reconnect with each other on a deeper level.

How I Work

I offer a calm, compassionate and structured space where both partners can speak freely, without judgment or blame.

We’ll explore the patterns between you, understand what’s been driving them, and learn new ways of relating that bring more honesty, care, and emotional safety.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in attachment theory. This means we’ll look not only at what’s happening between you, but also at what each of you brings into the relationship from your individual histories.

Clients describe my style as warm, insightful and steady, a mix of empathy and clear guidance when things feel confusing or raw.

If this sounds like what you need

You don’t have to face disconnection or uncertainty alone.

Couples therapy can help you both slow down, understand what’s really happening beneath the surface, and start finding your way back to each other.

Reach out today to book an initial session or a short phone consultation, it might be the first step toward feeling close again.

If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message via the send a message - button.

Online therapy

I'm highly experienced in working with clients via video-sessions and have facilitated and seen results in my clients' processes which has led me to recommend online therapy as equally effective as in-person sessions.

For online sessions, I use Google Meet platform, which is free to use. Your privacy is a top priority - our conversations are securely encrypted at both ends to ensure confidentiality and a safe space for you to share.

Online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for various mental health struggles, but also to support couples in changing any unhelpful habits or behaviours. Same as in-person therapy, it encourages open and honest dialogue about issues that cause you distress in the relationship.
